Ronnie Ward Tire Co. (R.W.T) was established in June of 1967. Consisting of just Ronnie
Ward and one employee, R.W.T. operated out of its first warehouse on Hubbard St. in Monroe, GA. Concentrating on wholesale tire sales, Ronnie quickly grew his
business and found himself in need of more warehouse space, more employees, and
delivery trucks. His business spread throughout North Georgia as many retailers
gained trust in Ronnie, appreciated his customer service and loyalty, and found
that for the "small guy in town" he was very competitive with his pricing.
Ronnie began to see a growing
need for more retail tire and automotive stores in this area, so in July of 1973
he opened up Bulldog Tire Co. of Monroe, GA. More retail locations would soon
follow as Bulldog Tire Co. of Covington, GA was established in April of 1982, Bulldog Tire Co. of Snellville, GA
was established in August of 1984, and Bulldog
Tire Co. of Griffin, GA was established in June of 1998. Ronnie also had
retail stores in Madison, Eatonton, and Greensboro, GA along the way.
In 2003 Ronnie became a stockholder of Del-Nat Tire Corp., a 78-member
nationwide co-operative company based out of Memphis, TN. The year 2003 also brought about
a second wholesale location for Ronnie as he and his managing partner, John
Plumstead, opened Tire Distributors of Georgia (located in Macon, GA) that April.
Since 2003
Ronnie Ward Tire Co. has been the Stockholder and Distributor of Delta tires for the state of Georgia.
In 2006 R.W.T. was awarded the "#1
Market Penetration Award" for Delta brand tires in the U.S. and Ronnie won the prestigious "Marketing Leadership Award" from Del-Nat Tire Co.
Ronnie has
also been a chairperson on the Delta Marketing Committee since 2005, and in late
October of 2007 he was elected to the Board of Directors for Del-Nat Tire Corp. As
you can see, Del-Nat Tire has become a great partner for us and holds a special
place with Ronnie personally.
Today, R.W.T. wholesales to many tire retail stores throughout the state of
Georgia. We offer private brand tires such as Delta, Firestar, G.T.,
Geostar, Geotrac, Milestar, Nankang, Sunny, Westlake and many more. We also
offer major brands such as Yokohama, Michelin, BFG, Uniroyal,
Continental/General, Cooper, Goodyear & more. R.W.T. carries nearly all sizes of tires covering passenger,
light truck, medium truck, OTR, farm, high performance, specialty tires, tubes,
and
more. We also offer full tire service through any of our four dedicated sub-contractors.
Ronnie Ward Tire Co. has grown by leaps and bounds since its humble beginning 40
years ago. What started as one wholesale location with just two employees has now
grown into two wholesale divisions, four retail stores, and over 60 employees.
